Pattern with twisted stitches.
For this pattern and rapport, cast on 18 stitches and knit as follows.
Row 1 — 1 knit stitch, then slip the next 3 stitches onto a auxiliary needle and wrap the working yarn around them twice, then knit them as knit stitches, and so on.
Row 2 and all even rows — knit purl stitches.
Row 3 — slip 2 stitches onto a auxiliary needle and wrap the working yarn around them twice, then knit them as knit stitches, * 1 knit stitch, slip 3 stitches onto an additional needle, wrap the yarn around them twice, then knit them as knit stitches *.
Starting from row 5, repeat the pattern.
The pattern with twisted stitches is dense and fluffy. This pattern is great for decorating loose-fitting jackets or like this:
Row 1 - all stitches knit, this is a preparatory row, on the reverse side.
Row 2 - 1 knit, knit 1 stitch into the stitch below, "into the hole" *; 1 knit
Row 3 - 1 knit "into the hole," we see on the 2nd stitch on the left needle the transverse yarn from the stitch of the lower row from knitting "the stitch into the hole." Insert the right needle under this yarn on the stitch on the left needle moving from left to right (i.e., lifting the yarn onto the right needle) and knit the knit stitch together with the lifted yarn; 1 knit into the hole.
Row 4 - * knit 1 with yarn over as knit, 2nd knit into the row below, "into the hole," knit 1 with yarn over as knit;
Row 5 - 1st stitch - into the hole, 2nd - together with the yarn as knit, 3rd stitch - into the hole.
Repeat from row 2.
