Baby booties

 

We use medium thickness yarn and needles size 2.5-3. Cast on 15 stitches and knit 13 cm in garter stitch. Bind off the stitches. Along one of the long sides of the resulting rectangle, pick up 30 stitches. Knit 10 rows in garter stitch (if the booties will have ties, in these rows knit 1 row with "holes" - knit 2 together, 1 yarn over). Then set aside the first and last 10 stitches on a spare needle. For the middle 10, secure the thread and knit 10 rows in garter stitch. Cut the thread. Next, knit the 10 set aside first stitches, pick up 7 stitches along one side of the rise, the middle 10 stitches, then again 7 stitches along the other side of the rise and the last 10 stitches. You should have 44 stitches. In the next row, knit with the right side, increasing in 1 stitch on each side of the 10 central - a total of 46 stitches. Knit another 10 rows in garter stitch. Now we shape the foot. Knit 3 knit stitches, 3 together, 11 knit stitches, 3 together, 6 knit stitches, 3 together, 11 knit stitches, 3 together, 3 knit stitches. In the next row, knit simply with the right side. Then the row as follows - 2 knit stitches, 3 together, 9 knit stitches, 3 together, 4 knit stitches. 3 together, 9 knit stitches, 3 together, 2 knit stitches. Then a row with knit stitches. The next row: 1 knit stitch, 3 together, 7 knit stitches, 3 together, 2 knit stitches, 3 together, 7 knit stitches, 3 together, 1 knit stitch. Then knit 2 more rows with knit stitches without decreases. Sew the booties, make the seam on the cuffs on the right side. The booties are suitable for children from birth to 3 months.
