Description: Description of the cap. For a head circumference of 55-57 cm. Yarn Alize Lanagold (100 g, 240 m), 130-140 g. Cast on 120 stitches using size 4.5 needles and knit in 2x2 ribbing for 14 cm. Then switch to size 5 needles and knit the main pattern, evenly increasing by 18 stitches in the first row after the ribbing (=138 stitches). Main pattern: edge stitch, 7 stitches in stockinette stitch, 5 stitches in garter stitch, 5 stitches in stockinette, repeat to the end of the row, edge stitch. Start knitting the braid on the third (or fifth) row from the ribbing and then in every 8th row. Braid: edge stitch, 7 stitches in stockinette stitch, 5 stitches in garter stitch moved to a helper needle and held in the back, knit the next 5 stitches in stockinette, then knit the stitches from the helper needle in garter stitch, repeat pattern to the end of the row, edge stitch. Purl stitches are knit according to the pattern. When there are 2 centimeters left to the desired height, start decreasing.

Make the decreases on the fabric knit in stockinette stitch. In the last row, knit 2 stitches together and pull the cap tight with the yarn. Seam with a mattress stitch.
