HAT "SNOWFLAKE"Klubokhttp://klubok.work/23/189/6613/Klubokhttps://klubok.work/css/image/top-logo-en.png
head circumference: 42 cm
YOU WILL NEED: 90 g of Merino de luxe yarn (280 m/100 g), double
circular needles No. 3 and No. 3.5
I based this on the tutorial by Maria Matveeva, for which I owe her special thanks.
The upper hat is knitted with circular needles No. 3, the lower one with No. 3.5. The hat stretches well up to size 46. I made a sample, the density of the upper hat matched the description, so I did not change the number of stitches. I knitted the ears double in the round. I started with 10 stitches. 1 knit, yarn over (reverse, to avoid holes), 4 knit, yarn over, 1 knit, yarn over, 4 knit, yarn over. Increases every other row, as described. The second ear is similar. Each ear has 38 stitches. I placed 19 on pins for the lower hat. Then I followed the description.
The pattern for the upper hat, for knitting in the round:
1st row: *1 knit, 1 purl*
2nd row: *1 knit, purl with yarn over, do not knit*
3rd row: *slip the stitch with yarn over with another yarn over, 1 knit.*
4th row: *knit the stitch with two yarn overs, 1 purl*
repeat rows 1-4.
I knitted to the required height and sewed the open stitches with a mattress stitch, stitch by stitch.
The lower hat turned out denser, hence the needles 3.5.
19 stitches from the first ear on the pin, I cast on 10 stitches from the back of the hat, 19 stitches from the ear, then in straight and reverse rows, with stockinette stitch, adding one stitch at each edge in every knit row. I added a total of 6 stitches on each side (4 stitches in the upper hat) due to the difference in the density of the patterns. For safety, it's better to check that the shape of the upper and lower hat openings matches. After finishing the increases, I cast on stitches along the brim. I ended up with not 16 stitches, as in the upper one, but 22 stitches. Knit to the required height and sew with a mattress stitch. Attach pom-poms or tassels to the ends. I finished the hat with a crab stitch and made ties (a chain of ch in two strands). If the top is knitted in stockinette stitch, it's better to follow the description of the tutorial. I made recalculations in the lower hat due to the difference in the density of the upper and lower hats.
