For a head circumference of 45-48 cm, use needles #3, 100 g (yarn 50 wool, 50 acrylic, 120 m / 50 g).
With a crosswise cast on, cast on 50 stitches and knit in a 2x2 rib for 30 rows (front), set the stitches aside. Then also knit the second piece with 50 stitches, but a bit longer for 40 rows (back), then join both pieces in the round and knit in the round for 30 rows. For the front part, close the middle 18 stitches and continue knitting, closing 2 stitches on each side every second row 5 times, leaving 62 stitches in work, and knit to the height of our hat (about 15 cm), and then divide into three parts of 20, 22, 20 stitches and knit like a sock heel, leaving 22 stitches on the needle, then knit a rib around the face oval for 10 rows. Make pom-poms and sew on buttons.
