The width of the braid is 24 stitches

I knitted a set from yarn 100m in 50g. It took 6 skeins for the entire set in sizes 54-56. A little over 2 skeins for the hat.
Needles - 3.5 for ribbing, 4 for the main fabric.

Cast on 104+1 stitch, turn the work and knit 15-16cm in 1×1 ribbing.
Then evenly increase 40 stitches.
We start knitting the pattern.
24 stitches - wide braid (diagram in the carousel), 3 purls, a cable of 6 knit stitches, 3 purls. Repeat 4 times.
In the cable, make a right crossover every 4th row.
In height, repeat 3 repeats of the braid and start decreasing.
In row 1, decrease purls: braid, 2 purls together, 1 purl, cable, 2 purls together, 1 purl.
Then in each row decrease the braid: knit 1 and 2 stitches together left and the penultimate and last together left. Also gradually decrease the cable and purls. Pull the remaining stitches tight.
