The flowers can be made from fondant or flower paste of any color, or you can follow our example and make bouquets of flowers in different, yet harmonious shades. Tie little bows from thin ribbon to insert them between the branches with flowers. Or wrap the ribbon around two fingers three to four times, then carefully pull it off your fingers (holding it by the bottom edge), spread out the ribbon loops, and tightly bind them at the bottom with thin insulated wire.

You will need:
200 g of semi-bitter chocolate
425 g of butter
140 ml of milk
175 g of wheat flour
1 tsp of baking powder
125 g of dark brown sugar
125 g of granulated sugar
3 chicken eggs
75 ml of kefir
350 g of powdered sugar
2 tbsp of grated lemon zest

How to cook:
1. Place the chopped chocolate with 200 g of butter in a saucepan, pour in 125 g of milk. Put on low heat and, stirring occasionally, let the chocolate and butter melt. Mix until smooth.
2. In a large bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder, dark brown and regular sugar.
3. Whisk the eggs with the kefir or buttermilk until smooth.
4. Pour into the flour mixture. Add the melted chocolate and mix thoroughly until you get a uniform batter.
5. Preheat the oven to 170 °C. Place the ring mold on a baking sheet. Pour the chocolate batter into a jug and pour it evenly into the mold. Bake for 1 hour until tested with a dry stick in the thickest part of the sponge. Let cool in the mold.
6. Whip the butter in a bowl until creamy. Sift the powdered sugar into the butter in portions and whip well after each addition. Stir in enough milk to soften the cream. Add the lemon zest.
7. Transfer the sponge to a serving plate and evenly coat it with the buttercream using a spatula.
8. Decorate the chocolate ring with small flowers made using plunger cutters. Finally, to give the cake an even more festive look, insert little bows made of ribbon between the flowers.
