3 fresh-frozen mackerels
Brine – 1 liter of water,
3 tablespoons of salt (heaped),
1.5 tablespoons of sugar,
2 tablespoons of dry black tea leaves,
2 handfuls of onion peels.
Preparation:
Clean the fish, wash it, and remove the heads and tails.
Prepare the brine: in a pot with water, add salt, sugar, tea leaves, and onion peels. Bring to a boil, cool, and strain.
Place the prepared fish in a container, pour the prepared brine over it, cover with a lid, and leave at room temperature for 4 days, turning the fish over every morning and evening. Remove the fish from the brine, transfer to another container, and store in the refrigerator. Delicious! Especially with boiled potatoes, sauerkraut, and pickled mushrooms. Give it a try!
