РAGLAN with GROWTH. EXAMPLE OF CALCULATION FOR CHILDREN OVER 3 YEARS OLD AND TEENSKlubokhttp://klubok.work/1/203/8242/Klubokhttps://klubok.work/css/image/top-logo-en.png

What numbers are required?
1. Head circumference (in the example = 52 cm)
2. Neck circumference (how to determine see in the previous post, in the example = 58 cm)
3. Knitting density, or the number of stitches in 1 cm (10 cm = 18 stitches; 1 cm = 1.8 stitches)
?
Calculation order:
Neck circumference multiplied by the number of stitches in 1 cm: 58×1.8=104.4 stitches (rounding down to 104 stitches)
Raglan: 2 stitches×4=8 stitches. Subtract from the total: 104–8=96 stitches.
Divide the difference into 3 parts (back, sleeves, front): 96:3=32 stitches (in case of a remainder, round to a whole number, sum the remainder with the front, see the previous post)
Divide the number of sleeve stitches into 2 parts: 32:2=16 stitches.
To prevent the sleeve from being too wide, subtract 1.5 cm from each sleeve for its tapering, considering the knitting density:
1.5 cm × 1.8 stitches = 2.7 stitches (rounding to 3 stitches)
16 stitches– 3 stitches = 13 stitches (for each sleeve)
Divide the resulting number of sleeve stitches into 4 parts: 13:4=3.25 stitches or 13=4/3/3/3
The subtracted sleeve stitches are summed with the front stitches: 32 stitches + 6 stitches = 38 stitches.
From the total number of front stitches, subtract the central 10 stitches: 38-10=28 stitches.
The resulting number is divided by 2: 28/2=14 stitches (the number of stitches on each side of the 10 central stitches).
Divide 14 into 6 parts. The stitch distribution is as follows: 14=3/3/2/2/2/2
?
The collar is knitted using short rows. On the front side, do not forget to add stitches before and after the raglan lines. On the back side, do NOT ADD anything!
