Knitting a hat with needles

Size: head circumference 56 cm (for a larger or smaller size, use thicker or thinner yarn or larger or smaller needles).

Materials:
• 1-1.5 skeins of sock yarn (50 g = 150 m).
• set of 4 double-pointed needles (with both ends open) 3 mm,
• 2 auxiliary needles (A) of the same size
• Tapestry needle.

Knitting density:
10 cm = 26 sts of the pattern.

Special terms:
• Yarn over = 2 sts together knitwise, leaning to the left
• Double knit yarn over = slip 3 sts as purl, 2 sts together knit, knit over the slipped stitches.
• Sk. = slip 1 st to A behind the work, 1 knit, 1 purl, knit the slipped stitch.
• Sk. 3 = slip 3 sts to A.

before the work, slip the next 3 sts to the 2nd A behind the work, knit 3 knit, then 3 knit from the 2nd A, then 3 knit from the 1st A.
• 1 i-cord = 4 knit, *slide them to the opposite end of the needle, pull the yarn behind the work and tighten it slightly, knit 4 knit sts again, repeat from * to the desired length of the cord.

Cut the yarn, thread it through the remaining 18 sts, pull tight. Secure the end of the yarn.

FINISHING WORK.
Knit an I-cord about 90 cm long.

Wash both the hat and the cord before assembly.
Starting from the front of the hat (and from the middle of the cord), sew it along the edge of the hat.
Tie the ends in a bow.
