Cardigan pattern

Pattern repeat: 10 stitches + 2 edge stitches.

Row 1 - 1 edge stitch, *knit with a right-leaning increase*, 1 edge stitch.

Stitches are worked in pairs, so we'll count one pair as one stitch; this will be easier and clearer.

Row 2 and all even rows are purled.

Row 3 - 1 edge stitch, 1 knit, *4 to the right, 1 to the left*, 4 to the right, 1 knit, 1 edge stitch.

Row 5 - 1 edge stitch, 1 to the left, *3 to the right, 2 to the left*, 3 to the right, 1 to the left, 1 edge stitch.

Row 7 - 1 edge stitch, 1 knit, 1 to the left *2 to the right, 3 to the left*, 2 to the right, 1 to the left, 1 knit, 1 edge stitch.

Row 9 - 1 edge stitch, 2 to the left, *1 to the right, 4 to the left*, 1 to the right, 2 to the left, 1 edge stitch.

Row 11 - 1 edge stitch, 1 knit, *all stitches to the left*, at the end of the row 1 knit, 1 edge stitch.

Row 13 - 1 edge stitch, 2 to the left, *1 to the right, 4 to the left*, 1 to the right, 2 to the left, 1 edge stitch.

Row 15 - 1 edge stitch, 1 knit, 1 to the left, *2 to the right, 3 to the left*, 2 to the right, 1 to the left, 1 knit, 1 edge stitch.

Row 17 - 1 edge stitch, 1 to the left, *3 to the right, 2 to the left*, 3 to the right, 1 to the left, 1 edge stitch.
