5 cups of all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon active dry yeast

1 teaspoon salt

1 egg

1/2 cup sugar

1 1/2 cups milk

5 tablespoons butter

pink food coloring

1 tablespoon strawberry extract
For the strawberry filling:

1/2 cup butter
-
1 cup sugar
-
1 tablespoon lemon juice
-
2 tablespoons heavy cream
-
chopped strawberries
For the cream cheese frosting:

1 package cream cheese
-
2 cups powdered sugar
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

a little cream or milk
How to make:

Gently warm the milk with the butter. Add the strawberry extract and a few drops of pink food coloring. The mixture should be warm, not hot.

Mix the flour, yeast, salt and sugar. Pour in the milk-butter mixture, add the egg and knead a soft dough.

Knead for 10–15 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, until the dough has doubled in size.

To make the filling, mix butter, sugar, cream and finely chopped strawberries.

Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread the filling evenly, and roll into a log.

Slice into pieces, place in a greased pan, and let rise for another hour.

Bake at 350°F (about 175°C) for about 28 minutes.

For the frosting, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla and a little cream until creamy.

Spread the warm buns with the frosting and serve. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for a few days.
