You will need: 100 g of coral and
gray-beige yarn from the Music Style Collection BLUES (40% cotton, 25% viscose, 20%
angora, 15% nylon, 92.5 m/50g), needles No. 4 and No. 5, hook No. 4.5, pearl beads,
brooch
Lace pattern: knit according to the pattern, purl the stitches in the
wrong side rows as shown.
Knitting density, lace pattern: 12 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Left part: on needles No. 4, cast on 68 sts with the Italian cast-on using coral
yarn, switch to needles No. 5 and distribute the stitches as follows: 1 edge st, 5
sts in stockinette stitch, 2 purls, 52 sts in lace pattern, 2 purls, 5 sts in stockinette stitch, 1
edge st. After 34 cm from the beginning of knitting, set aside the outer 8 sts from both sides and
bind off 52 sts in lace pattern.
Right part: knit as the left part, but
using gray-beige yarn.
Cable: transfer the 8 reserved sts to needles No. 5, and
knit 2 strips of 4 sts in stockinette stitch separately, evenly increasing
3 x 2 sts in every 12th row (= 2 x 10 sts), then decrease 3 x 2 sts in every 12th row
(= 2 x 4 sts). After 60 cm from the beginning of the cable, evenly increase 3 x 2 sts on both sides in
every 12th row (= 2 x 10 sts). After 90 cm from the beginning of the cable, bind off all stitches
and finish the edge with hook No. 4.5 in 1 row of single crochet. Braid the strips into a cable,
leaving free ends of 30 cm. Attach the coral cable to the right part of the top and the gray-beige cable to the left part and sew them on.
