Motifs and "cables":

Attention! Small colored sections and
individual stitches should be embroidered at the end of the work over the stitches. Diagram A shows the back and highlights the front panels in color. Diagram B shows the right sleeve completely, and diagram C shows the motif for the left sleeve. The diagrams provide both knit and purl rows.
Knitting density: 24 sts x 34 rows = 10 x 10 cm, knitted in stockinette stitch.
"Cable" on 12 sts. = 4 cm wide.
"Cable" on
8 sts. = 3 cm wide.
Left front panel: on needles No. 2.5 cast on 66 sts with light beige yarn and knit the lower band in stockinette stitch, 3 cm wide. Then continue working according to diagram A on needles No. 3.5, decreasing for the neck from the left edge. Finish the diagram, and after 59 cm from the lower band, bind off the remaining 45 sts for the shoulder.
Right front panel: knit the lower band as for the left front panel. Then continue working according to diagram A on needles No. 3.5 and make 6 buttonholes from the right edge: for the 1st buttonhole in the 5th row (= knit row) from the lower band after the first 3 sts make 1 yarn over, then knit 2 sts together with a left slant (= 1 st slip as if to knit, knit the next st and pull the slipped st through it). Make the remaining 5 buttonholes in every subsequent 32nd row. Decrease for the neck from the right edge according to the grid of the diagram. After 59 cm from the lower band, bind off the remaining 45 sts for the shoulder.
Back: on needles No. 2.5 cast on 135 sts with light beige yarn and knit the lower band in stockinette stitch, 3 cm wide. Then continue working according to diagram A on needles No. 3.5, making decreases for the neck. After 59 cm from the lower band, bind off 45 sts straight for each shoulder.

Then knit according to diagram B on needles No. 3.5, making increases for the slopes = 132 sts. After finishing the diagram, bind off the stitches after 43 cm from the ribbing.
Left sleeve: knit as the right one, but after 9 cm = 30 rows from the ribbing continue in stockinette stitch with the light beige yarn and knit the motif on the middle 68 sts according to diagram C. After finishing the motif, knit all sts in stockinette stitch with light beige yarn for 29 cm from the ribbing. After 43 cm from the ribbing, bind off all 132 sts.
Assembly: sew the pieces together. Make the shoulder seams. Set in the sleeves, complete the side seams and sleeve seams. Fold the bands in half, turning them inside out, and sew them in place.
