Pattern

Execution of work

Front pieces and back

Cast on 18 (20) 22 stitches and knit in stockinette stitch; the right edge of the work will later form the top edge of the jacket.

To round the front piece, additionally cast on or increase along the left edge in every 2nd row from the starting row: 2 x 6 sts, 3 x 5 sts, 3 x 4 sts, 4 x 3 sts, 6 x 2 sts, and 12 (14) 16 x 1 st, then in every 4th row 7 x 1 st = 100 (104) 108 sts.

After 39 cm = 94 rows (41.5 cm = 100 rows) 44 cm = 106 rows from the starting row, knit the next knit row with 28 sts, then close 28 (32) 36 sts and knit the remaining 44 sts for 2.5 cm = 6 rows, with the 3rd row forming the right side seam.

After the 6th row (= purl row), additionally cast on 28 (32) 36 sts and knit the remaining 28 sts. Then for the back, again knit all 100 (104) 108 sts as a single piece.

After 18.5 cm = 44 rows (21 cm = 50 rows) 23.5 cm = 56 rows from the newly cast on stitches, the middle of the back is reached. Finish the 2nd half of the back and the left front piece in mirror image, with the increases becoming decreases.

Make the 2nd armhole.

After 39 cm = 94 rows (41.5 cm = 100 rows) 44 cm = 106 rows from the 2nd additional cast on for the armhole, close the remaining 18 (20) 22 sts.

Sleeves

Cast on 42 (51) 60 stitches for each sleeve and knit in lace pattern.

To shape the sleeve, increase alternately on both sides in every 10th and 12th row from the starting row: 10 x 1 st (in every 10th row 11 x 1 st) alternately in every 10th and 12th row 10 x 1 st according to the pattern = 62 (73) 80 sts. Stitches not included in the pattern should be knitted in stockinette stitch or lace pattern respectively.

After 46 cm = 134 rows from the starting row, close all stitches as knit.

Assembly

Starting at the top corner of the left front piece, for the 1st buttonhole, crochet a chain of 7 ch, skip 2.5 cm of the edge, and make 1 sc, then crochet the remaining edge of the left front piece, the bottom edge, and the edge of the right front piece with 1 row of sc, and finally make a buttonhole at the upper edge of the right front piece. For this, turn the work, chain 7 ch, skip 2.5 cm of the crocheted edge, and join the chain.

Starting at the buttonhole, make fringe along the rounded edge of the right front piece with intervals of 2.5–3 cm.

For each bunch of fringe, cut 5 strands of yarn about 40 cm long, fold them in half, and crochet them into the crocheted edge. Then divide the 1st bunch of fringe into parts of 5 strands. Leave the outer part hanging, and loosely tie the 2nd part with half of the strands of the adjacent bunch. The knot is offset from the knots of the fringe weaving.

Then divide and tie each subsequent bunch of fringe with the next bunch similarly, leaving the last half of the strands of the last bunch of fringe hanging.

Sew the sleeve seams and set in the sleeves.

After fitting, sew the buttons on the left front piece and on the reverse side of the right front piece.
