Cardigan ZERI crocheted Lightweight/summer version of the cardigan. The choice fell on VITA cotton CHARM yarn 106m/50g 100% mercerized cotton, hook No. 4. The main pattern is single crochet in the back loop for each row. Cross knitting.
Preferably use thicker yarn and larger hooks))) Sometimes one neckline fits one yarn, while another neckline fits another yarn. So I will be knitting simultaneously from both sides. As they say, we will meet in the middle. Step 1: Start with a chain of air loops (section A-B) and knit the main pattern to the required height of the sleeve up to section C-E. Step 2: From point C, cast on the required number of air loops to point D + simultaneously knit the exact same number of loops from point E to point F (thus forming the fabric for the front piece and the back piece) (I took the yarn from another skein) and continue knitting towards the center. For reference - I used 150g of yarn for one sleeve. In the next photo, we see that the original has a different neckline. I tried to knit it that way, but I didn't like that the back neckline ended up being V-shaped and the tension of the fabric in that area was greater and different. However, this difference could have been due to the thick yarn with wool content. Similar cardigans have already been knitted across the internet. But the sleeve was knitted separately, which I personally do not like due to the extra thickness and heaviness of the "sleeve cap". Plus, it can also be knitted as a single piece without a center seam on the back. BUT! The stripes on the sleeves and front pieces will "face" in one direction. This is also important to consider. Some questions that arise during the execution of this product: - Can the cardigan be knitted as a single piece without a center seam? Yes, it can be knitted that way, just the stripe will "look" in one direction. - Can you start knitting from the center seam of the back, thus knitting in different directions from the center? Yes, you can knit that way too. The main thing is that it is convenient and comfortable for you. Recommendation: if you are unsure whether you need such a cut on the back of the neckline (as in the pattern), knit the cardigan simultaneously from both sides to see both halves of the whole on yourself. Then it will be easier to make a decision. It is possible that the width of your neckline will not be 14, but less (due to the stretchiness of the pattern), or maybe you won't even need to make a neckline.
