YOU WILL NEED

Yarn (100% cotton; 90 m/50 g) — 300 g of color ecru and gray-green; circular needles No. 5.

PATTERNS AND SCHEMES

KNIT STITCH

Right-side rows — knit stitches, wrong-side rows — purl stitches.

GARTER STITCH

Right-side and wrong-side rows — knit stitches.

CABLE PATTERN

The pattern consists of separately knitted stripes of 25 stitches, which are connected to each other by crossing in the 16th and 43rd rows of the chart. The total number of stitches is a multiple of 50; knit according to the chart. Only right-side rows are given. In wrong-side rows, knit the stitches according to the pattern or as instructed. Repeat the rapport constantly. 

Attention

After the 15th, 42nd, and 69th rows, there is no corresponding wrong-side row. Perform 2 right-side rows in a row. Knit rows 1 to 69 once, then constantly repeat rows 16 to 69, while maintaining the sequence of yarn colors.

Description:

• First, leave 6 stitches of one color on a helper needle behind the work

• Knit 6 next stitches of another color:
  1 purl, 4 knit, 1 edge stitch

This crossing creates a colored twisted block, producing an "interweaving" effect.

KNITTING DENSITY

21 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

ATTENTION

Knit the sweater to the armholes as a single piece. The sizes in the pattern are obtained by measuring the model on a horizontal surface.

PATTERN

EXECUTION OF WORK

Using the gray-green yarn, cast on 5 x 25 stitches, using the ecru yarn cast on 5 x 25 stitches and knit 5 stripes A and B for the first 15 rows separately in the "cable" pattern. 

In the 16th row, connect all stripes into 1 round row by crossing, while constantly repeating the rapport = 250 sts. 

Attention!

At the beginning of the round, slip the first 6 stitches without knitting them, as purl, and include them at the end of the round in the last crossing of the round. 

Then knit all 10 stripes separately according to the color of the yarn. 

In the 43rd row of the chart, knit 1 round row again, as in the 16th row of the chart. 

After 37 cm = 96 rows from the starting row, divide the work and continue knitting for the back on the first 125 sts. 

At the same time, cast on 1 x 39 new stitches for the seamless sleeves on both sides (= according to the color of the yarn of rapport 1 stripe on 25 stitches and 1 outer stripe on 14 stitches; at the beginning of the sleeve rows there are 8 stitches in garter stitch and 6 stitches in knit for crossing, at the end of the row the stitches are arranged in a mirror image) = 203 sts. 

After 47 cm = 122 rows from the starting row, close the middle 13 sts for the neckline and finish both sides separately. 

The next row (= crossing row) is to be done as follows: along the right edge of the neckline, first knit according to the pattern to the last 12 stitches, then perform the crossing according to the chart and simultaneously close the last 6 sts. 

Along the left edge of the neckline, cross the first 12 stitches as follows: leave 6 stitches on a helper needle in front of the work, close 6 sts, then knit the 6 stitches from the helper needle with 1 knot edge, 4 knit, 1 purl, knit the remaining stitches according to the pattern = 89 sts on each side of the neckline. 

After 57.5 cm = 149 rows from the starting row, close all stitches according to the pattern, leaving the last 6 stitches of the stripe on the helper needle behind the first 6 stitches of the next stripe, then knit 1 stitch from the left needle and from the helper needle together as knit and close. Finish the front similarly.

ASSEMBLY

Sew the shoulder seams only on the "cable" stitches. Sew the closed "cable" stitches along the edge of the neckline from the inside. Perform the lower seams of the sleeves.
