Knitted sweater

Sizes: 34/36 (38/40:42/44:46/48:50/52).
Chest circumference: 82-89 (90-97:98-105:106-115:116-125) cm.
Width of the item: 92 (98:104:112:124) cm.
Length of the item: 52.5 (53.5:54.5:55.5:56.5) cm.
Sleeve length: 46 cm for all sizes.

For knitting, we will need 6 (7:7:8:8) skeins of bright yellow/peach-pink yarn: 54% alpaca wool, 46% polyamide; 150 m/50 g.
Needles No. 4.5 and 5.5.
Also, knitting markers and a tapestry needle.

STITCHES 

Ribbing: Knit alternately 1 knit, 1 purl.

Pearl stitch (odd number of stitches).
Row 1: * 1 purl, 1 knit, repeat from * to end with 1 purl.
Row 2 and all following rows: knit as in row 1.

Fantasy stitch A (number of stitches is a multiple of 2 + 2):
Row 1: 1 knit, * slip 1 st as purl (yarn behind the stitch), 1 knit, 1 yarn over, then pull this knit and yarn over through the slipped st, repeat from * to end with 1 knit.
Row 2: knit all stitches as purls.

Fantasy stitch B: knit according to the pattern.

Knitting density: 18 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm, knitted in fantasy stitch A on needles No. 5.5; 18 sts x 24 rows = 11 x 11 cm, knitted in fantasy stitch B on needles No. 5.5; 16 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm, knitted in pearl stitch on needles No. 5.5.

DESCRIPTION 

BACK. On needles No. 4.5, cast on 84 (90:98:104:116) sts and knit 3.5 cm in ribbing. Switch to needles No. 5.5 and continue knitting in fantasy stitch A.

Armholes: After 33.5 cm from the starting row, bind off for armholes on both sides 1 x 4 sts, then in every subsequent 2nd row — (1:2:2:3) x 4 sts and 4 (3:3:4:4) x 2 sts = 60 (62:62:64:68) sts.
Continue knitting according to the pattern.

Neckline: After 50.5 (51.5:52.5:53.5:54.5) cm from the starting row, bind off the middle 20 (20:20:22:22) sts for the neckline and then knit both sides separately. To round off, bind off 1 x 11 sts on the next 2nd row along the inner edge.

Shoulder slopes: After 51.5 (52.5:53.5:54.5:55.5) cm from the starting row, bind off for the shoulder slope from the armhole side 1 x 4 (4:4:4:6) sts, then in every subsequent 2nd row 1 x 5 (6:6:6:6) sts.
Finish the 2nd side symmetrically to the first.

FRONT. On needles No. 4.5, cast on 84 (90:98:104:116) sts and knit 3.5 cm in ribbing. Switch to needles No. 5.5 and continue knitting in fantasy stitch A.

Armholes: After 33.5 cm from the starting row, bind off for armholes on both sides 1 x 4 sts, then in every subsequent 2nd row — (1:2:2:3) x 4 sts and 4 (3:3:4:4) x 2 sts = 60 (62:62:64:68) sts.
Continue knitting according to the pattern.

Neckline: After 43.5 (44.5:45.5:46.5:47.5) cm from the starting row, bind off the middle 16 (16:16:18:18) sts for the neckline and finish both sides separately.
To round off, bind off 1 x 4 sts, 3 x 2 sts and 3 x 1 st in every subsequent 2nd row along the inner edge.

Shoulder slopes: After 51.5 (52.5:53.5:54.5:55.5) cm from the starting row, bind off for the shoulder slope from the armhole side 1 x 4 (4:4:4:6) sts, then in every subsequent 2nd row 1 x 5 (6:6:6:6) sts.
Finish the 2nd side mirror to the first.

SLEEVES. On needles No. 4.5, cast on 36 (40:44:48:52) sts for each sleeve and knit 7 cm in ribbing, then knit 1 row (= purl row) in purls, adding evenly 24 sts = 60 (64:68:72:76) sts.
Switch to needles No. 5.5 and continue knitting in pearl stitch and fantasy stitch B (see pattern).
Distribute the stitches as follows: 21 (23:25:27:29) sts in pearl stitch, 18 sts in fantasy stitch B and 21 (23:25:27:29) sts in pearl stitch.

Slopes: For slopes, bind off on both sides in every subsequent 24th row 2 (2:2:3:3) x 1 st and in every subsequent 12th row 3 (3:3:1:1) x 1 st = 50 (54:58:64:68) sts.

Sleeve cap: After 46 cm from the starting row, bind off for the cap on both sides 1 x 2 sts in every subsequent 2nd row — (-:-:1:1) x 2 sts, 2 (2:3:3:5) x 1 st, in every subsequent 4th row 1 (2:6:5:3) x 1 st, in every subsequent 6th row — (3:-:-:-) x 1 st, in every subsequent 8th row 3 (-:-:-:-) x 1 st, in every subsequent 2nd row 1 (2:2:2:4) x 1 st and 1 (1:1:2:2) x 2 sts.
Bind off the remaining 28 sts.

NECKLINE BINDING. On needles No. 4.5, cast on 96 (96:96:100:100) sts and knit 3 cm in ribbing.
Then knit 1 row (= knit row) in knits, then in another color yarn knit several rows in stockinette stitch (steam the binding and unravel these rows before assembly).

ASSEMBLY. Sew the shoulder and side seams, sleeve seams.
Run the yarn along the upper edge of the sleeve caps and gather to 8 cm, then sew the sleeves into the armholes.
Sew the open stitches of the binding stitch by stitch with the "back needle" stitch from the front along the edge of the neckline.
