Airy blouse made of kid mohair 17

Yarn: Vittorio (mohair on silk)
Consumption: 100 g
Needles: No. 5 on a cable
Technique: knitting fabric across, in 2 threads

 Process Description

The fabric is knitted entirely from sleeve to sleeve. All calculations are based on the pattern rapport and the provided diagram.

Step 1: First Sleeve

  • Cast on 62 stitches = 4 rapports + 2 edge stitches.

  • Knit 4 rapports in height (vertically).

Step 2: Expanding to the Body

  • Cast on an additional 31 stitches on each side of the fabric.

  • Total number of stitches = 124 stitches = 8 rapports in width.

  • Knit 1 rapport in height — this will be the area under the bust/neckline.

Step 3: Shaping the Neckline

  • Divide all stitches in half — you will have 62 stitches each.

  • Knit each half separately, knitting 8 rapports in height.

Step 4: Joining and Finishing

  • Reconnect the stitches of both halves.

  • Knit 1 rapport in height.

  • Bind off 31 stitches at each edge — this is the shoulder line.

  • You will have the stitches of the second sleeve left (62 st.) — knit another 4 rapports in height.

  • Bind off all stitches.

Assembly and Finishing

  • Sew the sides with a hook.

  • Crochet around the sleeves, forming cuffs.

  • Wash gently, dry flat — and enjoy the incredible softness and lightness of mohair
